I Placed a copper ornament Into a plastic baggie full of Tarnx in my stainless steel sink and let it soak for 3 days to get the tarnish off, now I have a nasty stain I can not get out. I’ve Tried steel wool. . Tarnx more. . . Ajax. . . Soft Scrub. . . Even a paste made of baking soda. . . Can anyone know how I clean it up?

i’m afraid it is there forever. you might try filling your sink up with bleach water and let it set for a few days.

if it set that long you will most likely just have to live with the stain!

Use Fine sandpaper, used to Wet Sand auto paint finish- I use it to clean my Stainless pots.

Congratulations…You have permanently anodized your sink. You created an electrical field, with the right acids to anodize stainless.

All resturant supplyers and used dealers use muratic acid, you may have to buy a few gallons and let it soak. Its cheap and at all home stores even wall mart just pour it in and let it work make sure to where protection (glasses and gloves) and ventilate the area it will have a strong oder but will clean any stainlees to a brilliant shine. unless you have a cheap coated stainless. it works.

if it matters to you, buy a new sink, they are not that expensive. if you can get exactly the same size it will be easy to fit.
